An interesting phenomenon is being reported by National Public Radio. http://www.npr.org/2014/01/07/260184473/sunday-assembly-a-church-for-the-godless-picks-up-steam The Sunday Assembly has begun meeting in Los Angeles â and itâs a church for people who donât want to go to church. If that sounds confusing, just wait until you go. People gather on Sunday mornings, but thereâs no God talk. But it is spiritual, unless it isnât. People meditate, but not on anything meaningful. They sing and are inspired by poetry, but the songs arenât inspirational and consist of fun fluff. They have no dogma, except the dogma that says they have no dogma. In case youâre wondering, this is what happens when men try to find meaning apart from God. Ultimately they just keep looking, in futility, drifting from auditorium to coffeehouse, listening to New Agers, Unitarians, Buddhists and even âexperimental psychologists and neuroscientists.â And theyâre left just as empty as they were when they woke up. Sad.
